The Woodlands Office Shooting: 1 Killed; Suspect Reportedly Dead
Authorities said the shooting is believed to have stemmed from a personal matter and the public is not in danger.
THE WOODLANDS, TX — An employee was killed after a person opened fire at a business in The Woodlands late Friday afternoon, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff's office.
Deputies were dispatched to a shots fired report aroud 4 p.m. Friday at an office building in the 2100 block of Buckthorne Place. Deputies that responded to the scene were told that the shooter had fled southbound on Grogan Mill's Road after shooting one person, the sheriff's office said in a press release.
Authorities found one victim suffering from gunshot wounds who died at the scene. He was identified as 54-year-old Brent Brock.

A second victim suffered blunt force injuries that are non-life threatening, officials said.

A car crash scene found half a mile from the shooting appears to be related to the shots fired call, authorities said. Initial reports say a person found dead inside the car is the suspect in the shooting, the sheriff's office said in the press release. Authorities identified the suspect as 63-year-old John Williams.
Authorities are still investigating whether there is a connection between the two scenes.
An initial investigation says the shooting stemmed from a personal matter.
Officials said there is no immediate threat to The Woodlands community and the public is not in any danger.
