Maroon 5 is set to headline the 2019 Super Bowl halftime show alongside special guests Travis Scott and Big Boi next Sunday, Feb. 3 in Atlanta.
In 1967 the University of Arizona and Grambling State marching bands played the first Super Bowl halftime show and ever since the coveted slot has become a cultural institution. Over the last fifty years, the show's headliners have ranged from Carol Channing, Michael Jackson and Prince to the likes of Beyonce, Madonna and Coldplay.
For many artists, the Super Bowl halftime performances have been transformative career milestones and for others not so much. Soon enough we will see where Adam Levine's Maroon 5 lands after Super Bowl 53.
