Amazon is Hiring! 120,000 Jobs Available Nationwide

As the holiday season inches closer, major retailers are preparing for the shopping surge. But first, they'll need more workers.

Amazon is now looking to hire some 120,000 people across the country to fill seasonal openings at fulfillment centers, "sortation centers" and customer service sites — some of which may lead to full-time employment after the holidays, the company says.

“This is our favorite time of year — we love serving customers during the busy holiday season and we’re excited to bring on more than 120,000 seasonal employees this year to support growing customer demand,” said Mike Roth, Amazon vice president of global customer fulfillment. “Last year alone, more than 14,000 seasonal employees stayed on in regular, full-time positions after the holidays and we expect to increase that number this year.”

Seasonal positions are available in 27 states across the country.

There are currently jobs available as "fulfillment associates" — the people who make deliveries happen — in Logan Township, New Jersey; Stoughton, Massachusetts; Houston, Texas; Bellevue, Washington; Santa Monica, California; Charleston, Tennessee; and Carlisle, Pennsylvania, to name just a few locations across the country.

Many of the new jobs will be offered to people "on-the-spot" at special hiring events. In Amazon's words, you can simply "Walk in, apply, and walk away with a new job!" Applicants are required to bring along a valid photo ID, and they will only be offered a job if they meet the position's requirements.
