The Best Super Bowl Commercials Of All Time

How will Super Bowl LII's commercials compare to the classics? We'll have to wait and see.

There's less than a month left to go before Super Bowl LII, but a couple of key questions still remain unanswered. First, which two teams will duke it out in Minneapolis at U.S. Bank Stadium? Second, which greatest hits will Justin Timberlake perform during the Pepsi Halftime Show (and will Janet Jackson be invited back this year)?

However, some would argue that the Super Bowl commercials are the real MVPs of the night. And at a rate of $5 million per 30 second time slot, we can at least bank on the fact that there will be some quality advertising in store for this year's event.

We'll have to wait and see whether this year's entertainment can top the political, hilarious and heartfelt ads from previous years. In the meantime, take a look at some of our favorite commercials from Super Bowls past, from an advice-spewing celebrity yearbook to a "hangry" Betty White:

Honda: "Yearbooks" (2017)

Stars like Amy Adams, Missy Elliott and Steve Carell give some inspiration to all the dreamers out there in Honda's compilation of celebrity yearbook shots.

Budweiser: "Born The Hard Way" (2017)

Rather than depicting their usual, adorable four-legged friend stories, Budweiser took the political route in last year's Super Bowl ad with a commentary on immigration. The bond over a brew sparks a camaraderie between men of two diverse backgrounds, giving light to the conception of Anheuser-Busch.

Audi: "Daughter" (2017)

Instead of focusing on its product, this Audi ad centers around the notion of progress, exuding major girl power. This heartfelt tale portrays a special bond between father and daughter while making a statement about equal pay in America.

Bai: "#BaiBaiBai" (2017)

It might take a second to realize Christopher Walken is reciting the lyrics to 'N Sync's 2000 song "Bye Bye Bye" in this simple-yet-classy Bai ad. Enter 'N Sync alumni Justin Timberlake, and it just makes sense.

Doritos: "Time Machine" (2014)

If you build a time machine, there's a chance you'll get a bag of Doritos out of it. Watch as this guy gets duped by a clever neighborhood kid looking for some cheesy snacks.

Volkswagen: "Darth Vader" (2011)

Startled by his own strength, this mini Darth Vader gets a little help from Dad and his trusty sidekick, Volkswagen, in his relentless attempt to awaken the force.

Snickers: "Betty White" (2010)

A football-playing Betty White has a little trouble on the field until she bites into a Snickers bar, of course, confirming the fact that "you're not you when you're hungry."

E-Trade: "Monkey" (2000)

E-Trade had the right idea with a clapping monkey and a hilariously honest commentary on the absurd prices of Super Bowl ads, admitting, "Well, we just wasted $2 million bucks" on this ad.

Pepsi: "Cindy Crawford" (1992)

Spoiler alert: Cindy Crawford will be returning to the Super Bowl this year to re-create this iconic Pepsi ad from the '90s. And yes, she will ooze sex appeal in her white tank and jean shorts. However, this time her 18-year-old son will be joining her.

Coca-Cola: "Hey Kid, Catch" (1979)

Drinking a can of Coke can make even the hardest exteriors crack a smile. Just ask "Mean Joe Green," former Pittsburgh Steelers defensive tackle, whose notorious frown turns upside down when an excited young fan shares his soda.
