Fall 2015 begins Wednesday, September 23. Here's a look at the summer that was across the Patch network.

When a woman giving birth to her twin sister’s baby fails to become the top story of the summer of 2015, you know a lot went on during those few, often-sweltering months.
A breastfeeding photo, a mom’s plea for people to let her kids fend for themselves and a game-changing beer pong invention topped the touching story of those wonderful twins. Gay marriage, too, was a big issue, with no aspect of it more amplified than the Kentucky clerk who refused to follow the law of the land as decided by the U.S. Supreme Court.
