ACROSS AMERICA — Dozens of state attorneys general have signed on to a lawsuit against Google, accusing the technology giant of abusing its power over the sale and distribution of apps through the Google Play store on mobile devices.

The complaint was filed Wednesday in federal court, according to a report by Bloomberg. The lawsuit signed by attorneys general in 36 states alleges Google used anticompetitive tactics to thwart competition, forcing developers to go through the Google Play store to reach users.

New York is leading the case with Utah, North Carolina and Tennessee.
