Who Are This Year’s Big Players?
As usual, this year's nominees (both actors and series) are a balanced mix of seasoned vets and newcomers. Hulu original "The Handmaid's Tale," HBO's "The Night Of" and "Big Little Lies" and CBS favorite "This Is Us" have all been nominated in their first seasons, while well-established shows including "Modern Family" and "Fargo" have also received nominations.

Actress Claire Foy of "The Crown" has been nominated for her first Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series, while 13-year-old Millie Bobby Brown nabbed a nomination for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama for her work in Netflix original "Stranger Things."
Meanwhile, big-screen stars Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman, Susan Sarandon, Robert DeNiro and Geoffrey Rush have created quite the stir on the small screen, with each of them having also been nominated for individual Emmy awards.

Why Have Some Early Emmy Winners Already Been Announced?
Although the Emmy Awards ceremony won't actually take place until Sept. 17, more than 80 winners across various categories were already announced at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards on Sept. 9 and Sept. 10. Some winners of note: Alexis Bledel for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series in "The Handmaid’s Tale"; Melissa McCarthy for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series on "Saturday Night Live" (she played a pretty hilarious Sean Spicer in her winning SNL skit); "Veep" for Outstanding Casting for a Comedy Series; and "Westworld" for Outstanding Special Visual Effects.

How Many Emmys Has "Game Of Thrones" Won?
Whether you’re a fan of the infamous HBO show or are sick of hearing about it, you can’t deny that the series has staying power — so much so, that it’s won a whopping 38 Emmy awards since its premiere in 2011. Right now Game of Thrones holds the record number of Emmys ever won by a scripted series (it surpassed “Frasier” by one statuette in 2016). However, since Season 7 premiered too late in the season to be nominated for any Emmys this year, we’ll have to wait and see if the show can hold onto its reigning title for 2018.

What Delicious Food Will Nominees Be Feasting On After The Awards Show?
Each year after the Emmy Awards wrap up, nominees attend the coveted Governors Ball, an Emmys afterparty complete with decadent decor and an enviable menu. This year's lucky guests will nosh on mouthwatering bites like pan-roasted filet mignon and dulce de leche brownies, sip fancy signature cocktails, and enjoy all the gilded details that fit the night’s “Golden Grandeur” theme.

When And Where Can You Tune In To The Main Event?
None of the above information really matters if you don't know when and where to watch the big awards ceremony! So just in case you missed it, the 69th Primetime Emmy Awards will air on Sunday, Sept. 17 on CBS at 8 p.m. EST. May the best shows (and actors) win.
