RENO, NV — With one flick of the wrist Anthony Neuer toppled a bowling feat that hasn't been seen on television in 30 years — making the 7-10 split.

The 18-year-old made bowling history Sunday during the semifinal match of the U.S. Open in Reno, Nevada. Neuer is only the fourth player in Professional Bowlers Association history to make the 7-10 split during a televised broadcast and the first person to accomplish it since 1991, according to USA Today.

The significance of Neuer’s accomplishment wasn’t lost on Fox Sports announcer Rob Stone, who was the play-by-play announcer for the match.

“He did it! My goodness the Ginger Assassin just dropped a 7-11, you bet kid. You bet,” Stone giddily shouted. “Oh man, give me some oxygen and water.”

Neuer’s reaction to his own accomplishment was a little more subdued, saying during the U.S. Bowling Congress' post-game show “it was pretty cool.”

“I mean, I’m not going to say it was bad,” he said. “I wasn’t expecting it … I was walking away and I looked back and I seen it come across — I was just shocked.”

While Neur is new to the PBA Tour scene, having formally joined in October, bowling is in his blood. His father, Andy Neuer, picked up the PBA Tour title in 1994, according to the association.

Despite the accomplishment, Neuer lost his match to Jakob Butturff, according to USA Today.
