Here’s Spotify's 'Official' Christmas Anthem Of Each U.S. State
Here's Spotify's most popular Christmas song that each U.S. state listens to during the holiday season. See if your favorite made the list.

Mariah Carey is the official queen of Christmas. The diva's holiday anthem “All I Want For Christmas Is You” was the No. 1 Christmas song in the world last year, according to the streaming service Spotify. In fact, it ranked tops in every country except two — Iceland and Denmark. Other artists like Justin Bieber, Wham! and Frank Sinatra round out the top ten, revealing a diverse mix of Christmas anthems across the globe.
In each U.S state that apparently isn't the case, as Carey's festive holiday anthem doesn't even make the cut. Spotify said its analysis was based on Christmas music each state listened to most relative to the rest of the country. Users of the streaming service created more than 18 million Christmas-themed playlists, so they certainly had plenty of data to analyze.
“In a way, this is the Christmas song that most defines each state, like the state bird or motto,” the authors wrote.

One of their more interesting findings — a lot of people seem to love hearing Nat King Cole sing about chestnuts roasting over an open fire. “The Christmas Song (Merry Christmas To You)” was the top song in six states.“The Drifters” appeared twice on the list with their hit “White Christmas,” and the Trans-Siberian Orchestra trended most in 3 states for two of their songs.
