Homeless Man Pinched in $6.99 Mother's Day Card Theft

He'd already been arrested 92 times. What's one more?

NEW YORK CITY — Oswald Jones — arrested 92 times, convicted of 13 felonies — loves his mama. So what if he's led a life of crime? And being on the wrong side of the law hasn't exactly made the homeless man rich, either.

That's why Jones, 56, picked up a $6.99 Mother's Day card on the five-finger discount plan and tried to beat feet from a New York City newsstand on Saturday, according to police, but the owner caught him and took back the card.

Jones had a few other items in his possession, reports the New York Post, which led to petit larceny and criminal possession of stolen property charges.
