Hooters Lends A Hand + Dead Shark On Beach + Bill Cosby Reaction

ACROSS AMERICA — A single mom and her 2-year-old daughter now have their own home, thanks to a partnership between the Hooters restaurant chain and the Habitat for Humanity in Pinellas and Pasco counties in Florida.

Employees from 12 Tampa Bay-area Hooters restaurants volunteered 162 hours to help build the home for the Clearwater woman and daughter. It’s the fifth home that’s been completed as a result of the partnership.

"I look forward to all the new wonderful memories that will come with my new home, and the fact that I get to leave a legacy behind for my daughter," the mom said. Read the story on Clearwater, FL, Patch

Dead Shark Found On Beach

A porbeagle shark was found on a Massachusetts beach Thursday afternoon, apparently washing onto the shores of Cape Cod. The shark, about eight-feet wide, was already dead when first responders arrived. Read more from Barnstable-Hyannis, MA, Patch
