3. Fill out your event post. Enter in the important information about your event, including the date, time and location of your event, along with a title and description of what exactly your event entails. You can also add an image for your event by clicking "Add image" at the bottom right. After you add your image, click on the green "Next" button.

4. Promote your event. If you want to give your event more prominence on Patch pages and emails, and share with nearby communities, you can promote your event for just $1 per day per community. Just check the box that says "Promote and share with nearby communities," and you will be able to select the extra towns you'd like to share the event in.

If you don't want to do this, it's still totally free to list your event on your local Patch calendar.

5. Set your event live. Click on the green "Post" button at the bottom right — and voila! Your community event is live for neighbors to see.
