Hurricane Irma South Carolina: Dorchester School District Two Closes
BREAKING: Deadly Hurricane Irma is on a projected path to reach the lowcountry of South Carolina beginning early Monday morning.

SUMMERVILLE, SC — Schools up and down South Carolina's coastline are closing in anticipation of Hurricane Irma and Dorchester School District Two in Summerville is no exception.
All schools and district facilities will be closed Friday, Monday and Tuesday, the district announced on its website.
"This decision is being made in an abundance of caution to allow our parents and employees time to prepare for the safety of their families and in anticipation of the storm," officials said.

All extra-curricular activities, events, and extended day programs scheduled for Friday through Tuesday were also canceled. Deadly Hurricane Irma, the most powerful Atlantic storm ever recorded, is on a projected path to reach the lowcountry of South Carolina beginning early Monday morning, forecasts say. The storm is blamed for at least 10 deaths so far and was following a path that may have dire implications for Florida, Georgia, and the Carolinas.
