London Bridge Stabbing: 2 Dead In Area Popular With U.S. Tourists
Two deaths were reported in a stabbing Friday in an area typically filled with tourists, business people and workers heading home.

The BBC, citing sources, is reporting that two civilians were killed in a stabbing Friday at the London Bridge in an attack that left the assailant shot to death by police.
The Metropolitan Police said they were called to a stabbing near the bridge just before 2 p.m. local time. They were treating the incident as a terror attack.
The suspect, who died at the scene, was believed to have been wearing a fake explosive device, police told the BBC.

Videos on social media appear to show a group of passersby holding down a man on the bridge. An officer arrives, seems to indicate to the group to get clear, and fires a shot.
At this stage, the circumstances relating to the incident at #LondonBridge remain unclear. However, as a precaution, we are currently responding to this incident as though it is terror-related. One man has been shot by police. We will provide further information when possible.

The London Bridge area of central London is typically crowded on Fridays, with tourists arriving for the weekend, business people from the city's financial district spilling into the area and workers heading home early for the weekend.
