Mom Says It Best: Little Kids, Little Problems; Then They Grow

Patch readers, many of them moms themselves, are dishing out their moms' best advice in our extended Mother's Day 2021 celebration.

ACROSS AMERICA — Danielle Coffey can hardly be faulted for giving cancer a verbal middle finger.

The Montgomeryville-Lansdale, Pennsylvania, Patch reader’s mother, “the strongest, best person” she knows, was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic last year. She’s fighting, and just made it past the one-year anniversary of her diagnosis.

The best advice she ever gave her daughter is spot on in any case, but especially considering all she’s going through now:

“When your kids are little, the problems are little,” she said. “When they’re big, the problems are bigger.”
