President Obama returns to Chicago tonight to deliver his final address to the nation. Aides have said the farewell speech "is not intended as a victory lap, but a call to action to the next generation of leaders," a theme that's been running through many of the president's recent interviews as his time in the White House wanes. The speech is slated for 8 p.m. CST. (Chicago Tribune and Patch)
A COSTLY GOODBYE

Free tickets to the president's final public speech are going for as much as $5,000 on sites such as eBay and Craigslist this week. That level of after-market popularity is on par with the musical "Hamilton" or Cubs World Series tickets last year. (Patch)

The Crimson Tide was heavily favored to win once more but gave up a last-second touchdown to end the game at 35-31. (Patch)

With a boost from Donald Trump Jr. and a Republican-packed Congress, gun advocates may soon check a long-awaited item off their wish list ā quietly, of course. Hope is stirring anew for those in favor of rolling back restrictions on gun silencers. (Washington Post)
CHIEF: 'RUDE, BUT NOT RACIST'
A police officer has been temporarily suspended in Forth Worth, after video revealed what's been decried as racist behavior during the arrest of an African-American mother and her daughter. "Every once in awhile, a revolutionary product comes along that changes everything..." That was 10 years ago yesterday, when Apple's Steve Jobs first introduced the iPhone. Yes, it's officially been a decade.
