Can't We Push Politics Aside Even On Sunday? (Answer: No.)

So much for sports being an escape from the politics, pettiness and POTUS-prickliness. President Trump's habit of speaking out on issues that tend to divide Americans managed to unite most or all of the NFL, when players and owners took exception to basically being told they should be fired if they dared question social issues in the United States. Here's a rundown of how players reacted across the league. And here's a powerful commercial the NFL ran during prime time Sunday. It's fairly ho-hum until the ending provides something like a hit to the helmet of a defenseless receiver.

Meet Mike And Betty Tracy: Faces Of Health Care Reform

Mike Tracy will be the first person to tell you there are things that he does not know. At the top of the list is a certain amount of confusion about politics. “I really don’t know what to believe,” he says. “These people who want to do away with health care, do they really believe that they will never get sick, that they will never need help? Or do they just not care? Or maybe it’s that they figure by the time they do need help, that someone will have come along and fixed the mess they made? That's kind of what I think. And, in the meantime, we just have to hope for the best.” By “we,” the 56-year-old Tracy means himself and his 91-year-old mother, Betty. Don't care much about the battle over Obamacare? Tennessee Church Shooting Leaves 1 Dead, More Injured

Just after 10 a.m. services, the gunman with the ski mask on entered Burnette Chapel Church of Christ in Antioch. A flurry of gunshots later, and one person was dead, and seven others, including the church minister, his wife and the gunman, were injured. The bloody Sunday is being blamed on 25-year old Emanuel Samson of Murfreesboro. See how the ages of the victims seem to make the shooting all the worse.
