Health Care Legislation Appears Near (Another) Death
Sen. Susan Collins, with an assist from the Congressional Budget Office, appears to have effectively delivered a death blow to GOP last-ditch efforts to kill Obamacare. Similar legislation has risen from the dead several times, but Collins appears to be the third vote needed to foil GOP plans — for now. See why the CBO score helped doom the proposed legislation. Blame Chicago: Nation's Worst Crimes Increase Thanks To Pockets Of Violence
A whopping 1.2 million violent crimes were recorded by the FBI in 2016. According to the FBI’s Uniform Crime Report, the violent crime rate rose 3.4 percent, and there were an estimated 17,250 murders in 2016, an 8.6 percent increase from 2015. The report, though, did include some good news.

Private Email Account Becomes Public Problem For Jared Kushner
Forgive Hillary Clinton if she's suddenly a fan of great irony. Rep. Elijah Cummings, a Maryland Democrat, is requesting information about Jared Kushner's email practices after Politico reported that the president's son-in-law has used a private account to conduct government business. Nobody's chanting "Lock him up!" You can see here, though, why the president's son-in-law is being accused of going all Hillary on us.
