Patch Pet Of The Week: Dexter

We can't wait for you to meet our new pet of the week, Dexter!

Dexter, aka Mr. Man, is a 10-year-old pug mix from Stillwater, New Jersey. He is extremely energetic and, as you can tell, photogenic. He knows a ton of tricks that he obviously performs for one purpose only: to get treats.

First day home

As soon as he saw his new mama, he sat on her lap and was adorably friendly. He had a look of desperation in his eyes, like he wanted nothing more to get out of the shelter he was living in. His mama was trying to wait for her husband to get there so he could also meet Dexter, but he was stuck in traffic. She couldn't bear making him wait at the shelter any longer, so she filled out the papers and headed home right away. He has now been their "son" for the last 8 1/2 years.

Favorite treat

Baby carrots. He likes to keep it simple.

Weirdest thing he ever ate

We don't know if this is weird, but it's definitely crazy! He once ate an entire vanilla cake with chocolate icing.

Likes

He loves peanut butter and hanging with his sister, Trudy (a rescue cat). Just look at these adorable siblings.

Dislikes

He doesn't enjoy water at all — pools, baths, etc. He also hates getting his nails clipped.

Funniest habit

He loves to bury himself under his blankie so no one can see him.

'He will pose for any picture'

Dexter knows just how cute he is so he loves getting his picture taken and will never not strike a pose. We'll leave you with one more adorable picture!
