The Simpsons, Friends, The Office, Seinfeld: See the most-searched-for shows on Christmas Day and New Year's Eve across the states.

ACROSS AMERICA— When it comes to the holidays, people across the country have a favorite TV show they tune in every year. For most, the favorite show on Christmas Day is different from the most-watched show on New Year's Eve, according to research of IMDb data performed by USDish, the cable company known more widely as the Dish Network.
The most-searched-for television show on Christmas Day nationally is "The Simpsons," which carried 21 states on the holiday. "The Office" holds that title in the next most states: 16.
The “It’s A Wonderful Life” episode of “House” is the single most popular episode watched on Dec. 25, according to the study.

The findings only included episodes that originally aired in 1990 or more recently, have more than 1,500 IMDb votes and a rating of 7.5 or higher. Dish then determined the episode’s viewership using the TV Listings viewership archive.
Only a handful of states search for the same show on Christmas and New Year’s Eve. Idaho, Michigan, Ohio and Rhode Island all like "The Office" on both holidays, while viewers in Delaware and the District of Columbia prefer "Modern Family."
