These TV Shows Have Been Canceled For Fall 2018

As we near the end of renewal season, many fan favorites have gotten the ax. See which shows made the cut — and which ones didn't.

As we near the end of network cancellation and renewal deadlines, many fans are worried that their favorite series are getting the ax!

From long-running series like "The X-Files" to newer shows like "Designated Survivor," here is everything we know so far about what is canceled and what is returning for the fall season — and don't worry, we've covered all the major networks. Did your favorites make the cut?


ABC

"Alex, Inc." (2018, one season)

This family comedy led by Zach Braff will not be returning after its short run of just one season.

"Deception" (2018, one season)

Although gaining some fan base, "Deception" joins the list of new ABC shows not making it to another season.

"The Crossing" (2018, one season)

With only 10 episodes underway, ABC has pulled the plug on 'The Crossing."

"Kevin (Probably) Saves the World" (2017-2018, one season)

Kevin will most definitely not be saving the world anytime soon, as ABC after just 16 episodes.

"Marvel’s Inhumans" (2017, one season)

This Marvel adaption was a miss for both critics and fans, so it's no surprise that we will not be seeing this team again.

"Ten Days in the Valley "(2017, one season)

Led by an undeniably talented cast, this series seemed destined be a hit. However, viewers unfortunately did not agree.

"Designated Survivor" (2016-2018, two seasons)

In what shocked many fans, "Designated Survivor" did not survive the ABC chopping block and will end after just two seasons.

"Quantico" (2015-2018, three seasons)

After an explosive first season, "Quantico" gained a huge fan base and seemed to be the next big hit. Unfortunately, it was not enough to hold the attention of its viewers, and ABC has canceled the drama after its third season.


Returning to ABC: "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.," "American Housewife," "black-ish," "Child Support," "For The People," "Fresh Off The Boat," "The Goldbergs," The Good Doctor," "Grey's Anatomy," "How To Get Away With Murder," "Modern Family," "Roseanne" (revival), "Speechless," "Splitting Up Together," "Station 19"


NBC

"The Brave" (2017-2018, one season)

Following less than stellar critic reviews, NBC is saying goodbye to "The Brave" after only 13 episodes.

"Great News" (2017-2018, two seasons)

Even after receiving mainly positive reactions from both critics and audiences alike, "Great News" is now no news, as NBC pulled the plug after two seasons.

"Rise" (2017-2018, one season)

Many of us had high hopes for this new series, but "Rise" will not be rising again anytime soon.

"Taken" (2017-2018, two seasons)

After being critically panned in its first season, many were shocked that NBC decided to bring back "Taken." However, it looks like the network had a change of heart, as the series got the ax after a 14-episode follow-up.


Returning to NBC: "A.P. Bio," "The Blacklist," "Blindspot," "Brooklyn Nine Nine," "Chicago Fire," "Chicago Med," "Chicago PD," "The Good Place," "Law & Order: SVU," "Marlon," "Midnight," "Texas," "Superstore," "This Is Us," "Trial & Error," "Will & Grace"

"9JKL" (2017-2018, one season)

This one sort of fell under the radar, despite having some extremely talented actors. Sadly, CBS pulled the plug on this one after just 16 episodes.

"Kevin Can Wait" (2016-2018, two seasons)

Kevin will have to wait for a long time — maybe even forever, because CBS has canceled this show after just two seasons.

"Living Biblically" (2018, one season)

It seems that rotten critic scores killed "Living Biblically" before it even got to really live.

"Me, Myself & I" (2017, one season)

Though it seemed to have all of the right pieces in place, "Me, Myself & I" just didn't translate to its viewers and was taken off the air after just one season.

"Scorpion" (2014-2018, four seasons)

As far as television life goes, "Scorpion" gave us a run for its money. Unfortunately this Katharine McPhee drama is ending after four seasons. But who knows? Maybe we will see these guys again.

"Superior Donuts" (2017-2018, two seasons)

Although with us for two seasons, "Superior Donuts" may have gone under your radar as well.

"Wisdom of a Crowd" (2017-2018, one season)

After a controversial year for Jeremy Piven, CBS has decided to part ways with star's drama and canceled it after 13 episodes.

Returning to CBS: "The Big Bang Theory," "Blue Bloods," "Bull," "Criminal Minds," "Elementary," "Hawaii Five-O," "Instinct," "Life In Pieces," "MacGyver," "Madam Secretary," "Man With A Plan," "Mom," "NCIS," "NCIS: Los Angeles," "NCIS: New Orleans," "Ransom," "Salvation," "SEAL Team," "S.W.A.T.," "Young Sheldon"


FOX

"Brooklyn Nine-Nine" (2013-2018, five seasons)

In a move that shocked fans all around, FOX pulled the plug on this heartfelt comedy that was so dear to many. Luckily, after an outpour of fan distress and even a pass from Hulu, NBC picked up the comedy for a sixth season.

"The Exorcist" (2016-2018, two seasons)

While good reviews from both critics and audiences brought this thriller back for a second season, it won't be getting a third.

"The Last Man on Earth" (2015-2018, four seasons)

Led by a perfect cast, many fans are sad to see this one canceled after a cliffhanger ending in its fourth season. Hopefully FOX gets some sense and gives fans the closure that they need to say goodbye.

"Lucifer" (2016-2018, three seasons)

After a shaky start, FOX took a chance on "Lucifer" and kept expanding its episode pick-up for following seasons. It's no surprise that many fans were left distressed after hearing that this cult favorite is gone for good.

"The Mick" (2016-2018, two seasons)

Another fan favorite that seems to be gone too soon. Although packing in the laughs, "The Mick" will not be returning for a third season.

"The X-Files" (1993-2001, nine seasons, 2016-2018, two seasons)

We wouldn't worry too much about this one, as the idea of a 12th season is not totally off the table. For now though, we will not be seeing these two again anytime soon.

"Life Sentence" (2018, one season)

After premiering to mixed reviews, this Lucy Hale-led show could not survive life for another season.

"Valor" (2017-2018, one season)

After being critically panned, "Valor" will not be making it past its first 13 episodes.
