After he was suspended indefinitely from social media giants like Twitter, YouTube and Facebook, former President Donald Trump's team is reportedly preparing to launch a new social media platform on July 4.

The platform, called GETTR, was created by former Trump spokesman Jason Miller. Its purpose, Politico reported, is “fighting cancel culture, promoting common sense, defending free speech, challenging social media monopolies, and creating a true marketplace of ideas."

Trump's personal involvement with the project remains unclear; however, it's been widely reported in recent months that Trump's team has been looking for ways to re-establish the former president's online presence.
