TSA To Offer Self-Defense Classes For Flight Attendants
The move comes amid a surge in unruly passengers on flights, according to a report.

ACROSS AMERICA — The Transportation Security Administration will once again offer self-defense classes for flight attendants, a decision that comes amid an uptick of unruly, violent passenger behavior on flights.
More than 3,000 reports of unruly passengers on flights have been filed this year, according to a New York Times report. More than two-thirds are related to mask-wearing disputes.
Flight attendants used to receive self-defense training, but classes stopped during the coronavirus pandemic. Typical training teaches attendants how to do simple defense maneuvers including eye pokes, elbow jabs and kicks to the groin.
