After the death of his parents, 17-year-old Riggle is sent to live with his uncle in an impoverished area of rural Indiana. When his uncle goes missing, likely on a drug binge, it doesn't change the fact that $800 is due for rent on Monday. Riggle, who's been suspended from school, has to find his uncle or get the money together himself. During this mission, the teenager finds himself mixed in with a group of Opioid locals. Finding himself at a crossroad, Riggle sees firsthand how addiction and income inequality present seemingly insurmountable challenges even for those willing to work.
