The White House intervened to prevent a key witness from testifying Tuesday in the House impeachment inquiry of President Trump as his personal lawyer, Rudy Guiliani, was invited to testify before a Senate committee. In a poll taken before Tuesday's developments, a new poll showed a majority of Americans now support the decision by Democrats to begin the inquiry.

Graham Offers Giuliani Chance To Testify Before Senate Over Ukraine Allegations

Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., has offered President Trump’s personal attorney, Rudy Giuliani, a chance to come before lawmakers to detail his allegations about former Vice President Joe Biden and his dealings with Ukraine.

A majority of Americans say they endorse the decision by House Democrats to begin an impeachment inquiry of President Trump, and nearly half of all adults also say the House should take the additional step of recommending the president be removed from office, according to a Washington Post-Schar School poll released Tuesday.
