Iran Latest: Iraq Parliament Votes To Oust United States Troops

The Iraqi parliament voted Sunday to oust U.S. troops from the country. The measure still has to be approved by the prime minister.

WHITE HOUSE —Another problem for the White House to deal with in the Middle East. The Iraqi parliament voted on Sunday to oust U.S. troops from the country.

The move comes in the wake of mounting tensions over the United States decision to assassinate Iranian military leader, General Qassim Suleimani.

United States has kept troops in Iraq at the invitation of the country.

The New York Times reports that Prime Minister Abdel Abdul Mahdi still has to sign the bill, which he is expected to do. He had urged parliament to take the action.

An Iraqi citizen who heads a coalition of pro-Iranian militias, Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, was also killed in the attack.
