WASHINGTON, DC — Saying "democracy is at stake," House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said Thursday articles of impeachment will be drafted against President Trump. The president's actions "have seriously violated the Constitution," she said.

"The president leaves us no choice but to act because he is trying to corrupt, once again, the election for his own benefit," Pelosi said in the historic announcement. "The president has engaged in abuse of power, undermining our national security and jeopardizing the integrity of our elections.”

Democrats’ case centers on pressure they say Trump put on Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky to launch an investigation into former vice president Joe Biden and his son, Hunter Biden.
