McEnany Hosts Briefing As Trump Mulls Supreme Court Pick: Replay
The press secretary has addressed questions on the president's upcoming Supreme Court nominee and the 200,000th U.S. coronavirus death.
WASHINGTON, DC — White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany addressed reporters at the White House early Tuesday afternoon, speaking on both the vacancy on the Supreme Court and the coronavirus pandemic as the United States death toll hit 200,000.
Her briefing came as President Donald Trump is expected to nominate a judge to serve on the Supreme Court of the United States as early as this weekend. Earlier on Tuesday, Republican Utah Sen. Mitt Romney said he will not object to a vote on the Trump nominee, all but assuring the yet-to-be-named judge's approval.
The Supreme Court vacancy came following the death of Ruth Bader Ginsburg last week. Ginsburg's body will lie-in-state at the United States Capitol on Friday.
