The New York Times on Tuesday posted a calendar running from June of last year through Oct. 1, 2017, with dates shaded in gray representing a day with at least one mass shooting event. The Times defines a mass shooting as "four or more people injured or killed in a single event at the same time and location." A glance at the map shows the stark reality that in that span there have been more days with mass shootings than days without one. You can view the paper's editorial board's map here.
