President Trump Tweets And Context: '@SenJohnMcCain-Thank you for coming to D.C. for such a vital vote.'
Here's what President Trump is tweeting about — and what it means.

Twitter has become a modern-day version of the fireside chat for Donald Trump, whose tweets are his preferred 140-character forum for getting out his message — both when he was a candidate and now as commander in chief.
Patch will share Trump's daily dispatches from his preferred platform in one handy post, as well as the context and facts, when appropriate. (For more national political news, sign up for the free White House Patch email newsletter.)

— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) July 25, 2017
The context: The Senate (not House of Representatives, as Trump seems to indicate in his tweet) voted in favor of moving the Obamacare-replacement health care bill to a debate. Sen. John McCain was recently diagnosed with brain cancer.
Of McCain, a Vietnam war hero, Trump has previously said, "I like people who weren't captured," and "He's not a war hero."

Jared Kushner did very well yesterday in proving he did not collude with the Russians. Witch Hunt. Next up, 11 year old Barron Trump!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) July 25, 2017
The context: Trump's son-in-law and senior adviser Jared Kushner on Monday finished meeting with Senate investigators probing Russian influence in last year's presidential election and said in a statement afterward he did not collude with Russia. Trump sarcastically said the probe will next focus on his youngest child.

— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) July 25, 2017
The context: Trump continues to attack Hillary Clinton's 2016 presidential campaign, as well as his own Attorney General Jeff Sessions. He also tagged Fox News' Sean Hannity, a loyal supporter of the president.
According to an Oct. 24, 2016, CBS News article: "Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe’s political action committee donated nearly $500,000 to the election campaign of Dr. Jill McCabe--the wife of an FBI official who helped oversee the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server while secretary of state, the Wall Street Journal first reported."
The tweets:
The Amazon Washington Post fabricated the facts on my ending massive, dangerous, and wasteful payments to Syrian rebels fighting Assad.....

So many stories about me in the @washingtonpost are Fake News. They are as bad as ratings challenged @CNN. Lobbyist for Amazon and taxes?

Is Fake News Washington Post being used as a lobbyist weapon against Congress to keep Politicians from looking into Amazon no-tax monopoly?
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) July 25, 2017
The context: According to The Washington Post, Trump ended the Obama-era CIA program to arm and train Syrian rebels.
The facts: While Trump did not offer a factual rebuttal to the Post report, he continues to assert that the newspaper is owned by Amazon. It is not. It is owned by Amazon CEO and founder Jeff Bezos.
