The facts: It is true that Obama granted security to Flynn, who served as director of the Defense Intelligence Agency until he retired in 2014. But as Politifact notes, "that doesn’t affect the main allegation against Flynn: that he didn’t properly disclose payments he received from Russia, as required by law and Pentagon policy. Nor does it excuse any oversights the Trump team made while considering Flynn for a White House role."

The facts: Trump gave no evidence to support his claim. Further, a GOP lawmaker who has been the target of voters' wrath at his own events went out of his way to call the disenchantment "legitimate."

“I want to make clear it’s all legitimate,” Sen. Charles E.
