McEnany Says Democrats To Blame If There's A Delay In Jobless Aid

The White House press secretary said there's "no timetable" for when coronavirus unemployment benefits could return.

WASHINGTON, DC — White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany on Monday described the four executive orders President Donald Trump enacted over the weekend, including one that would lower the amount of weekly unemployment benefits for those out of a job due to the coronavirus pandemic.

But there is "no timetable" for when those in that category will begin to see the $400 payments, saying that if there's a delay it would be the fault of Democratic lawmakers, specifically mentioning House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senator Chuck Schumer.

The White House, she said, is working "around the clock" to ensure the payments begin as quickly as possible.
