'Read' Donald Trump's Speech To Congress In Fewer Than 30 Seconds
A WordCloud provides perspective of what President Trump had to say, how often he said it, and what he ignored.
President Trump's speech to Congress lasted more than an hour Tuesday and was widely praised by even his detractors for the lack of insults and fact-mangling that has peppered so many of his public comments.
He spoke of health care and immigration, tax breaks and infrastructure projects, military hardware and American might. In a genuinely moving moment, he introduced Carryn Owens, the widow of Senior Chief William (Ryan) Owens, the Navy SEAL killed in Yemen who became the first military casualty of Trump's presidency.
What was emphasized most? One interesting way to "read" the speech at just a glance: We created a WordCloud using every word Trump included in his prepared remarks. The bigger the word, the more often the president said it. Take a look.
