Seth Meyers' 'A Closer Look': Trump's Hurricane Fail; GOP Is Bannon's Party

The "Late Night" host again lampooned one of his favorite targets: President Trump.

During his "A Closer Look" segment Monday night, "Late Night" host Seth Meyers roasted President Trump for his response to the hurricanes that have ravaged the South. Showing a clip of Trump saying the Coast Guard improved its "brand," Meyers quipped that the Coast Guard doesn't have a brand; "It's not Arby's," he said.

Meyers also spoke about Republicans being flustered about Trump's deal with Democrats on the debt ceiling and ensuing media praise of the president as an independent, which he called "an absurd talking point."

"The only thing he is independent from his reality," Meyers said. (For more national political news, sign up for the free White House Patch email newsletter.)
