Trump Backs Off Adding Citizenship Question To Census: Reports

Trump did not issue an executive action to include the citizenship question on 2020 census at a news conference today.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — President Trump backed off demanding the inclusion of the contested citizenship question at a news conference Thursday at the Rose Garden, according to The Washington Post.

After the Supreme Court rejected the administration's rationale for including the question on the 202 census, Trump has pressed on with the issue, telling reporters last week that the question is necessary for “many reasons.

The announcement is to take place at 5:00 p.m. ET, reports the Post.
