WASHINGTON — President Trump on Tuesday denounced what he called a “partisan impeachment crusade” being waged against him by Democrats, comparing the effort to remove him from office to the Salem witch trials and questioning the patriotism of Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

Trump made the remarks in a six-page letter to Pelosi that he made public.
