Trump Tweets And Context: 'We made and saved the USA many billions of dollars and millions of jobs.'
Here's what President Trump is tweeting about — and what it means.

Twitter has become a modern-day version of the fireside chat for Donald Trump, whose tweets are his preferred 140-character forum for getting out his message — both when he was a candidate and now as commander in chief.
Patch will share Trump's daily dispatches from his preferred platform in one handy post, as well as the context and facts, when appropriate. (For more national political news, sign up for the free White House Patch email newsletter.)

Just arrived in Italy for the G7. Trip has been very successful. We made and saved the USA many billions of dollars and millions of jobs.
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) May 26, 2017
The facts: "We can’t know for sure how many jobs will be created or saved -- nor, despite the certainty of his language, does Trump -- but the evidence at this point is so thin and so premature as to be little more than puffery or wishful thinking. We rate the statement False," says Politifact.

...to terrorism and airline flight safety. Humanitarian reasons, plus I want Russia to greatly step up their fight against ISIS & terrorism.
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) May 16, 2017
The context: More than 12 hours after multiple media outlets reported that Trump shared sensitive intelligence information with Russian visitors to the White House, the president responded. The president and his administration have pushed back on the reports but have not denied the substance of them.
The facts: The president's schedule did not say that Russian ambassador Sergey Kislyak would be attending, nor did the readout provided by the White House after the meeting. American press were not allowed into the meeting, but photographs taken by Russian press emerged.
