WASHINGTON, DC — President Trump held a joint press conference with Norway's Prime Minister Erna Solberg Thursday afternoon. Watch a replay of the event above. Reporters took the opportunity to ask the president about the ongoing negotiations to avoid a government shutdown and pass a bipartisan deal on immigration.

Asked whether he would accept a deal that doesn't include a border wall, in light of his Tuesday comments that he would sign any immigration bill the lawmakers sent him, Trump said the wall was a necessary part of any agreement.

Solberg was asked whether she thinks that the investigation into potential collusion between Russia and the Trump campaign makes the country look foolish. She said it was an important matter of internal U.S. politics, but that the issue of Russian election meddling stretches across Europe.

Trump also said that there was no collusion between him or his campaign with Russia. When a reporter brought up whether he would participate in an interview with special counsel Robert Mueller, he said "we'll see what happens" but also that it "seems unlikely you’d even have an interview.”

Trump previously said he would testify under oath for the investigation.

Solberg and Trump did not discuss the Paris Climate Accord much, the president said, but he said he would be open to some form of the agreement as long as it was fair to the American people.

"The Paris Agreement as drawn and as we signed was very unfair to the United States," he said.

Ahead of the conference, reporters joined the president and the prime minister in the Oval Office. Trump praised Solberg's recent electoral win as "resounding."

"We do a lot of business with Norway and I know you just bought some additional military equipment in the form of F35s and other things," Trump said. "And so I congratulate you. We make the best in the world, we make. And Norway is a great customer, a great ally and a great friend. It is an honor to have. Thank you very much."

Solberg returned the praise: "I would just like to say we are really appreciative of the good work that we have together with the United States. You are our closest ally inside NATO."

The press conference was held in the East Room of the White House.
