Watch Live: White House Press Briefing On Dec. 12

White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders is scheduled to brief reporters at 3 p.m. Eastern.

WASHINGTON, DC — White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders delivered a briefing for reporters Tuesday afternoon as President Trump stirs up a feud with a senator calling for his resignation. You can watch a live stream of the briefing on Patch.

On Monday, New York Democratic Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand called for Trump to resign in light of the multiple allegations of sexual misconduct against him. Sanders took questions about these allegations Monday, saying that the president addressed them during the campaign and that she had nothing to further to add.

But Trump managed to keep the story in the headlines Tuesday morning by attacking Gillibrand on Twitter, who was one of four Senate Democrats calling for his resignation.

"Lightweight Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, a total flunky for Chuck Schumer and someone who would come to my office 'begging' for campaign contributions not so long ago (and would do anything for them), is now in the ring fighting against Trump," he wrote. "Very disloyal to Bill & Crooked-USED!"

Gillibrand called the attack a "sexist smear." Sen. Elizabeth Warren, a Massachusetts Democrat, accused Trump of "slut-shaming" her colleague.

Sanders denied that there was anything sexist about the tweet, including Trump's claim that Gillibrand would "do anything" for campaign contributions.

"He's talking about the way our system functions as it is," she said. She said that Trump has used similar phrasing about men. "There is no way that this is sexist at all."

Asked whether Trump would support appointing a new special counsel to investigated Robert Mueller, Sanders said, "I know that he has great concern about some of the conduct that’s taken place and that we certainly would like to see looked at."
