After a four-year stint in the U.S. Air Force as a military cop, he began studying journalism at Laramie County Community College in Cheyenne, Wyo. obtaining an associated degree in 2005. He continued studying journalism at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, obtaining his bachelors degree. Adam interned as a multimedia reporter at My Community NOW Newspapers covering community news in the Milwaukee metro area for about a year, prior to joining Patch.

Adam has been married for eight years and has two children, seven-years and two-years-old.
