Clear Creeks Project, Neighbor

The Clear Creeks project, sponsored by the Gunpowder Valley Conservancy, is a grant-funded initiative that educates local homeowners and community organizations on ways to reduce stormwater runoff. Our free workshops provide hands-on experience with bay-friendly practices that beautify property and increase wildlife habitat, while also reducing pollution to local waterways. We are currently working in the Bird River, Lower Gunpowder Falls, Middle River and Tidal Gunpowder watersheds, which includes Glen Arm, Carney, Perry Hall, White Marsh, Nottingham, Middle River, and Essex. Through our cost-share program, participants from these communities are eligible to receive 50-80% discounts on rain barrels and Bay-friendly garden installations. Together, we hope our actions will help improve water quality and clarity so we can “see your feets in our creeks” again!
