I am a married mother of three awesome kids and mom to a rescue puppy named Sadie, a one-year-old black lab/terrier mix.
I was born in Milford, CT., grew up in Sandy Hook and attended Newtown Public Schools from 3rd-8th grade. My mom then moved us to Bethel where I attended Bethel Public Schools for 9th-11th grade. After getting remarried, my mom moved us back to Newtown where I graduated from Newtown High School.
After taking time to raise a family I went back to college and studied English Literature at Post University. I received my Head Teacher Certification through the State of Connecticut on 2008 in Early Childhood Education.
I have been working as a freelance writer and editor for the last five years for various publications.
From 2010-2012 I worked for Patch as a reporter, columnist, food critic, columnist and guest editor. I also helped launch twelve Patch sites in Fairfield and New Haven counties.
During 2012-2013 I volunteered much of my time to help the community of Sandy Hook heal after the horrific tragedy of 12/14. I founded the Sandy Hook Arts Center for Kids (SHACK) as a creative way for kids and families to heal through the power of the arts through free music and art programs.
In January of 2014 I was awarded #7 of Top 10 Most Fascinating People of 2013 in the Greater Danbury Area by the Hearst Media for volunteer work I performed for the Sandy Hook Arts Center for Kids.
In June 2014 I came back to Patch and became Regional Editor for Southwest Connecticut and Westchester.
In my free time I enjoy hiking at Huntington State Park in Bethel/Newtown/Redding, Tarrywile in Danbury and Putnam Park in Bethel. I also enjoy singing and playing bass guitar.
