Since he could hold a newspaper or pick up a pen, Carl had a knack for the written word and was encouraged to write. When he left home to attend University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee, Carl studied the craft of journalism and earned his bachelor's degree in print journalism. Throughout college he put his skills to the test and wrote for the UWM Post and a monthly community paper in Bay View. Carl most recently was a staff writer for The Waukesha Freeman and The Oconomowoc Enterprise.

Your Beliefs

At Patch, we promise always to report the facts as objectively as possible and otherwise adhere to the principles of good journalism. However, we also acknowledge that true impartiality is impossible because human beings have beliefs. So in the spirit of simple honesty, our policy is to encourage our editors to reveal their beliefs to the extent they feel comfortable.

Politics

I have never been attached to a single political party. Rather, I believe it is important to examine the unique challenges and opportunities that exist during each election. I vote for the candidate who can confront these challenges and seize opportunities to make the country, state and community better.
