Emily Volk, Neighbor

Emily Volk is a Physician leader who advocates for patient safety and quality and is a pathologist and expert in laboratory administration. She is currently working as Senior Vice President of Clinical Services at University Health System in San Antonio, Texas. Before she began with University Health System, Emily Volk was the Chief Quality Officer at Baptist HealthSystem.

Previously, Emily Volk began practicing clinical and anatomical pathology, emphasizing her focus on transfusion medicine, Laboratory administration, and gastrointestinal pathology. Her entire career, Emily has worked passionately to advocate for both patients and her fellow pathologists. Since 2000, she's been volunteering with CAP, and through the Laboratory Accreditation Program, she's led and been involved with a number of laboratory inspections. Today, Emily Volk is focusing more on advocacy and works with insurance companies as well as the state and federal government to disseminate information about the importance of patient care.
