I come from Tarheel Country, having grown up in Charlotte, N.C. I went on to receive a BA in English from UNC-W in 1993. I have worked at eight daily newspapers up and down the East Coast, including The Virginian-Pilot in Norfolk, Va, and the AJC right here in Hotlanta. I've split my 18 years in journalism between reporter and editor. I covered hurricanes on the NC coast and chronicled moonshine-making in the hills of Virginia. I was also the bureau chief that led a team of reporters (ok only two) that covered the heck out of the Michael Vick dogfighting case. I joined Patch in December 2010 as the associate regional editor for the western side of the metro area. And there ya go.
