In March of 2016 at the age of 51 I was diagnosed with Early-Stage (or younger onset) Alzheimer’s Disease. You can read my full story at borghoff.com. Since my diagnosis I have been working with great fervor with the National Alzheimer’s Association as a member of the National Early-Stage Advisory Group and with the Alzheimer’s Association Greater NJ Chapter. The Alzheimer’s Association has a vision of “A world without Alzheimer’s®” and a mission to eliminate Alzheimer’s disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health.
