Long Island Dietetic Association, Neighbor

The Long Island Dietetic Association (LIDA) is an organization of nutrition professionals affiliated with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and the New York State Dietetic Association. Members include Registered Dietitian Nutritionists (RDN) and Dietetic Technicians, Registered (DTR). Many of our members hold New York State Certification as Dietitian/Nutritionist (CDN).

Members are employed in various settings throughout the island such as hospitals, long- term care facilities, schools, community agencies, business and industry, private practice and research just to name a few. One of our goals is to increase the recognition of nutrition professionals and the integral role they play in preventing disease. Six out of ten leading causes of death are linked to poor nutrition/diet quality. RDN's and DTR's use evidence-based practice to help Long Islanders lead a healthy, nutritious lifestyle!
