e are a private, non-profit, community service agency providing a broad range of programs, services and support to individuals and families in need throughout North Central and Northwestern Rhode Island. Established in 1964 under President Johnson’s “War on Poverty”, we help people of all backgrounds and economic levels to achieve their highest level of self sufficiency. Our Mission: “To provide accessible, quality, and comprehensive social, educational, health, prevention, and other services to people in need, while empowering them to achieve the highest possible level of self-sufficiency and quality of life.” We are catalysts for change – helping to eliminate the causes and effects of poverty to create a high quality of life for those less fortunate in our communities.
