Assembly Members Houghtaling & Downey, Community Contributor

Assemblyman Eric Houghtaling and Assemblywoman Joann Downey represent Monmouth County in the New Jersey General Assembly.

A lifelong resident and former Mayor of Neptune Township, Assemblyman Eric Houghtaling serves on the Telecommunications and Utilities Committee and the Labor Committee, as well as Chair of the Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee and as the Vice-Chair of the Oversight, Reform and Federal Relations Committee. Eric and his wife Linda have three children - a son and two daughters - and seven grandchildren.

A former Deputy State Attorney General and an attorney in private practice, Assemblywoman Joann Downey serves on the Financial Institutions and Insurance Committee and as the Chair of the Human Services Committee. She was raised in Freehold Township and resides there with her husband Stephen - a professor of history at Ocean County College - and their two young daughters.
