Bei Dou Xing, Neighbor

Bei Dou Xing is made up of parents and community members who are dedicated to the success of the Hopkins’ Chinese Immersion Program K-12. Bei Dou Xing is supported through grants and fundraising activities.

Here's what we do:

Support the Chinese curriculum and cultural activities for Hopkins Chinese immersion students such as culturally-related classroom and library items.

Invest long-term in the district-wide Chinese Immersion Program by funding our Laoshi Fund which supports our amazing teachers in their ongoing education and licensure,

Build a community through cultural events such as the Chinese New Year Festival.

Plan, with the help of our parents, an overnight experience for our students at the end of 6th grade

Provide important opportunities for students to utilize their language skills in a non-school settings such as a student trip to China in 8th grade. The first trip is scheduled for March 2016 to visit our sister school in Shanghai and explore Beijing. This is an optional trip supported by the Hopkins School District .
